Be it known that

Whereas,

“Breath of Life” is a program supported by Texas Impact and Austin Area Interreligious Ministries to help Austin congregations reduce air pollution locally before it exceeds federal air quality standards; and,

Whereas,

Voluntary actions to reduce energy use and emissions by religious congregations will help Texas meet its overall goal of reducing emissions by 30 percent to ensure that our air is safe to breathe; and, 

Whereas,

We encourage all Austin congregations to save electricity by weatherproofing their buildings, buying renewable energy and becoming involved other aspects of environmental stewardship by participating in the “Breath of Life” program;

Now, Therefore,

I, Will Wynn, Mayor of the City of Austin, Texas,

do hereby proclaim

September19, 2005

                     as

“Breath of Life” Kick-Off Day

in Austin.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto

set my hand and caused the seal of the City
