Central Texas congregations hear a godly call to protect the planet

Don't hide your light under a bushel. Especially if it's a high-energy fluorescent bulb.
That's Texas Impact Executive Director Bee Morehead's biblical message — with an ecological spin — to people of faith.

Armed with religious imperatives to be good stewards of the Earth, Morehead is urging congregations to switch to green power, swap out inefficient lighting, caulk windows, install programmable thermostats and other initiatives that will help Texas meet federal air quality standards.

Texas Religious Leaders Ask Senator Hutchison to Support International Climate Change Talks 

AUSTIN—In anticipation of an upcoming multinational conference on climate change, more than 60 leaders of Christian denominations in Texas sent a letter to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison today expressing appreciation for recent US Senate statements on global warming and urging the Senator to support concrete steps to prevent and reduce global warming. The letter asked Senator Hutchison to “call for new US commitment to working with other nations to find global warming solutions.”
